Helping Russ

Today, Russ continued working on the electrical project. He has the REA scheduled to come on Monday to install a larger transformer for our place. Because the corn dryer requires so much power, we need to do this. Every weekend that Russ is home, he works on that project. It's finally looking like we are nearing the end.

Russ started out the day by doing some trenching. He laid some big wire in the trench and hooked it up in the barn. He also prepared the pole for hanging and hung the service panel and saftey switch panel on the pole. I helped him this afternoon by cleaning the trench out. Then I mowed lawn until just before quitting time. At which time, Russ asked me to help him hang panels.

The tasks took Russ almost all day to do. He has another full day finishing the necessary steps to prepare for the REA's portion.

I'll be glad when this electrical work is done. Every time he works on it, he has to shut off the power. Then I have to reset the clocks. I've had so much practice setting the clock on the DVD player that I don't even have to figure it out any more. I know exactly which buttons to push now to get the job done!
