Time at Mya's
I've been spending my time of late at Verna & Keith's as of the Feb. 13th. It's now been a week and Mya and I are pretty well into a routine. Verna lined up days for Mya to go to Teddy Bear Care (her day care provider) and some other activities. Today is a Teddy Bear day. I've been using the day to update my blog. I haven't kept up with it much lately. But, something is better than nothing.
I appreciate Teddy Bear days. Although Mya has accepted me quite well and our time together has been generally good, I appreciate the "me" time. Mya is quite a chatterbox. And, she just loves to "demand" my time. It sounds worse than it is. Since I don't have committments outside the household, I give her quite a bit of attention. (I hope this doesn't become too much of a problem for her parents when they get home.) Thus, Teddy Bear days are a welcome break.
When Mya was at Teddy Bear Care last time, I went shopping at Target. I had mentioned I'd do this, thus she insisted I get an Icee for her. (So many demands! :).) While there, I got some balloons too. She sure loves balloons. We've blown up several. She's working on popping them all now. What she doesn't know is that I got a package of 120. There were a dozen balloons of 10 different colors. She has used up all of the pink ones (I think pink is her favorite color!)
Justin and Nicky came over a couple days ago too. Mya and I had gone over to his place last week with map directions for a route there. I left the directions behind for their convenience to get here, if needed. The trip is an easy one - maybe 15 to 20 minute drive. I needed to give him the Bahama's trip souvenir that I had for him. While at his place, I mentioned to him that I had the hair clipper along so I can cut Russ' hair when I go out to see him next, right after I'm done with this trip. Thus, Justin and Nikki came over so I could cut his hair. Mya just loved their attention.
The last couple days have been quite cold. But, one of the days before the cold snap, the weather was warm enough for Mya to spend some time outside. The following pictures are of Mya working on our snowman. I say "our" because I made a face on the opposite side. Making a snowman was a challenge even that day. The snow was sticky ONLY in the sunny areas. So getting the right snow to a little doing. I think her man turned out great! She worked on it long after I was cold and went inside.
The stick protruding out the front is actually a foot. Go figure!
Here Mya is working on making his hat. Such Glamour!
