Weather Affects Today

I was supposed to go down to Mom's and Dad's place this morning so Mom could go to a show in Plymouth. We'd had it planned for over a month. I would spend the day with Dad so Mom could go to the Plymouth Play House with a group (taking buses from Morgan). They were going to see the show CHURCH BASEMENT LADIES. (If you'd like more information see: http://www.plymouthplayhouse.com/.) But with the threat of an incoming storm, Mom called me yesterday to say she wasn't going to go. Fortunately for her, she found out today that it has been rescheduled for the middle of March. (Also, I sure was glad the bad weather had stayed away from yesterday. I didn't want to miss my Grandma time.)

At this time (just before 3:00 p.m.) the snow has finally come to our place. I feel a lot better knowing Mom is safe at home with Dad and that the show has been rescheduled.

I took the free time I had this morning to get my hair cut and styled. It was long over do and with Nicholas' baptism coming up on Saturday, I thought I should have the doo a bit more presentable. I had scheduled the appointment for the a.m., hoping to beat the onset of the storm. I didn't encounter any snow flying from the heavens, but the wind kicked it up. The pictures below are my attempt to show how the North-South roads were accumulating drifting snow.

These pictures were taken around Noon.
left picture shows view of County Road 16 looking North. right picture is view of County Road 16 looking South. I've parked about a 1/4 mile South of our turn off.

This is the view of our driveway from the end of the drive. I was hoping that it would show the depth of the snow better. But those of you who have experienced our drive in the winter-time will know what I was up against. I almost didn't make it up the driveway due to drifted in snow.

I suspect Russ should be able to get up the drive just fine with the pickup since it sits up higher. This is assuming that the visibility is o.k. when he gets done with work.
