Moving Day
...............................................................................................................................................
Saturday was truly a busy day! After the fiasco with the power out late friday night, David called Saturday morning with the news about Adrienne and him getting engaged. That was wonderful news! I had previous knowledge of this upcoming occurrence, but wasn't supposed to say anything. Several times I nearly spilled the beans. But, I didn't. Now I can share the joyous news.
By Saturday noon, Russ and I were on the road, headed to Minneapolis. Justin had had an appointment in the a.m. So, moving was delayed to the afternoon. (In our family, moving day is "supposed to" start in the early a.m. Then the hard work is done early.) That was alright. Justin didn't have a great deal to move. His roommates owned the couch and the apartment complex owned the bed. So the only heavy furniture that Justin needed to move was his t.v. and t.v. stand.
We got him moved into his Forest Lake apartment around 3:30 p.m. We then waited for Nicky and her family to bring the heavy items and her personal belongings from her previous apartment. That was delayed a bit because Nicky had some car trouble. Her family and she arrived around 4:30.
After unloading her stuff, Nicky's family parted ways from us. Nicky, Justin, Duane (he was there helping too), Russ and I went out for supper.
The time must have been around 7 p.m. by then. We were all ready for this meal because we hadn't stopped to get a bite to eat at noon.
The meal was held at Applebee's. It was deliscious! After the meal and good conversation, we headed home. We got home around 11 p.m.
