Home at Last

Steph was discharged from the hospital yesterday afternoon. Oh what a joy! If she could have, I think she would have kissed the floor when she got in the house.

Nicholas is adjusting to being a big brother now. He is curious about little James when he makes noises. That will be an interesting time for them all.

Nicholas also showed Mommy how he carries around the step stool and turns on all the lights. But, unlike before when he insisted on all the lights remaining on, he now goes around from switch to switch and shuts off lights. Steph commented on how she's not used to the light being on and than randomly shuts off without her knowing it's going to happen. :) lots of fun in this household.

Duane will be going back to work tomorrow. Today he takes care of a few things that were neglected during the hospital stay. Duane also plays nurse to Steph for awhile. He will need to dress her wound at least twice a day until it is healed. The doctor and nurses showed him a specific way to dress it. Thus, I won't be doing that task.

I'll be helping with getting Nicholas to daycare in the a.m. (and most likely picking him up in the afternoon.) Also, since Steph has weight lifting restrictions, I'll be helping out wherever they see fit. I will go home over the weekend and than come back Sunday night so I'll be available to help with that routine. I'll help as long as they feel they need my help.

So, all is looking up in the D&S household. -- Congratulations to them for their new arrival AND the exodus of the hospital!
