Steph Update

Unless doctors and Steph change their minds between this afternoon and tomorrow morning, Steph comes home tomorrow. Yippee! We're all looking forward to her ended stay at the hospital.

On the Nicholas front, he had a pretty good day today. Until this evening. The late nights and early rises caught up to him. So, we worked on early supper and very little play time tonight. I believe he has made it to sleep before 9 p.m. tonight. I've got to believe that should help his evening mood. It would be nice if he comes home from daycare in a pretty good tomorrow, since Steph and James are arriving home.

I'll stay here at least till the weekend to help out. Steph and Duane will still need an extra hand until Steph is feeling much better. Over the weekend, D&S plan to get help from her sis or mom, if possible. And then they will re-evaluate her needs for next week. It is possible they may need my help through at least part of next week too.

But, as for now, we are all cautiously excited about Steph and James' arrival home tomorrow.

Footnote: The last of Steph's I.V.s and the central line were removed today. Steph started eating solids yesterday. She has a lactose intolerance from all of this, so can't eat any dairy - at least for now. Steph loves her milk products, so hopes that it is only a short term problem. Also, Steph needs to be sure to eat enough calories. Steph asked Duane to pick up a Subway sandwich tonight. Hopefully that will help kick her appetite into gear.
