I'm Back
I've been gone, but now am back.
I left last Wednesday to go see Russ at Moose Lake, MN. He was having trouble getting his Satellite set up. Thus, I went up there to help him with that. We had trouble getting it to work, so I called on a Service Tech Man to help with it. Because the Service Man couldn't come until Saturday, I stayed till Saturday, and Russ went home (to Fairfax) Friday night.
While I was up there, I had Doobie along. We took some time to help Adrienne with their move on Thursday. David was in Redwood Falls doing a short internship of sorts at the Redwood Falls clinic from Wednesday through Friday. Thus he wasn't able to help with the move. Because of this, David and Adrienne lined up a mover to move their things. Of course, Adrienne needed to be available to answer any questions the movers had. Thus, she traded days of work so that she could have Thursday off (so she worked Saturday for a co-worker.)
Since the Satellite Tech Man wasn't able to come till Saturday, Thursday was freed up. So Doobie and I hung out with Adrienne. We got a bite to eat down by the waterfront, then went back to her apartment and were available for the movers. I tell you, I liked helping move that way a whole lot better than the usual way we've helped in the past. I hung out on the porch with Doobie while Adrienne pointed the movers in the right direction. When she wasn't answering questions, she hung out on the porch with me which was most of the time.
I'm not sure, but I think my hanging around may have put Adrienne at ease a bit. I say this because I was available to take over for Adrienne, had she needed me when the Land Lord was to meet with her. Fortunately, the timing worked out practically perfectly. The Land Lord had called her to meet her at her new apartment with the keys just as the movers were finishing up with the loading. She and I went onto the new place. She talked things over with the Land Lord, then the movers arrived at her new place. I don't think anyone could have planned it any better.
After the movers were done, I helped Adrienne with just a couple last items of tidying up at the old place, then went to her new place again. I unloaded a couple things that were in my car, then bid her fare well, with the plans that Russ and I would most likely come back and take her out for supper. That is just what we did. (Doobie stayed in the trailer when we were out with Adrienne).
When Friday rolled around, Doobie and I had some time to kill. So, we went exploring. I found that Moose Lake's park doesn't allow dogs in it. Thus, we moved on. I then went up to Cloquet and explored. Amoungst other things, I stopped at Walmart and picked up a few needed supplies. Then I went through a drive-through for dinner and Doobie and I were on our way to Jay Cook State Park. Doobie and I enjoyed exploring some of the trails, then we went back to the camp ground and spent the evening with Russ until he headed home. Then I headed back to Cloquet, where I picked up a DVD player and some movies and some supper. Then I watched a DVD till bed time.
Saturday arrived and I went into Moose Lake to get other supplies that I had overlooked the day before, then went back to the trailer and watched DVD's till the Satellite Tech Man arrived. The Satellite Tech Man got the Satellite system up and running in no time at all (the right equipment and knowledge helps). Then, since Saturdays are poor TV programming days, I watched more DVD's. (I did need to take time out to tend to Doobie's needs.) Then Adrienne arrived around 2:30, 3:00 p.m. and we headed to Fairfax. We arrived home and enjoyed the evening with our men. (We also spent time at Josh Bunkers' place around a campfire, enjoying his, his parents' and his wife's company.)
Now it's Sunday and Russ has gone back up to Moose Lake, taking David and Adrienne with him. Since Adrienne's car was at Moose Lake, David and Adrienne went from there up to Duluth on their own.
Russ called, letting me know that they had arrived. While we chatted, he mentioned something about watching Deadliest Catch. So, I believe he's enjoying the use of his T.V. again. I imagine he'll enjoy the DVD's I left behind too. I picked up some "manly" DVD's with the intensions that he'd enjoy them when the programming selection on the Satellite is poor.
That ends it for this weekend (and journalling "dry-spell"). Hope your weekend was a good one too.
